Ambulances are at hand, at specific race points. Many route marshals are trained medical first responders who are trained to look out for running-related medical situations like Hyponatremia. Mandatory hourly medical check-ups occur for the Ultra runners 12 hours onwards into the race. Our medical crew also consists of dedicated long distance runners, who not just know how to treat injuries, but also what it takes for a runner to be out there, battling it out in their head.
